Home Care Industries to Bring 150 Jobs to Mecklenburg

A new industry is coming to Southside Virginia. Jeanne Faulconer says 150 new jobs will be created in Mecklenburg County.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell said yesterday that Home Care Industries will invest 1.5 million dollars to open a manufacturing and distribution operation in Mecklenburg County.  The project will create 150 new jobs.  Virginia successfully competed against North Carolina, Mississippi and South Carolina for the project.

The Home Care Industries announcement follows an August announcement that Microsoft will invest up to 499 million dollars to locate their latest-generation data center in Mecklenburg County.  Microsoft's location in Mecklenburg will be the largest economic investment in Southern Virginia history and will create 50 new jobs in the county.

Governor McDonnell said yesterday, "Southern Virginia is on the rebound, and Home Care Industries' new manufacturing and distribution operation is further positive news for this region."

Headquartered in Clifton, New Jersey, Home Care Industries produces vacuum bags, filters and home care products.
