Virginia Voice Offers Read-a-Thon
Virginia Voice is hosting an reading event on Saturday featuring some well known local voices.
Virginia Voice is joining with the Richmond Host Lions Club for its the first-ever Read-a-Thon.
Morgan: For the purpose of gaining some public awareness for Virginia Voice and the service that we provide throughout the community.
Executive Director Nick Morgan explained that Virginia Voice is a non-profit group offering audio reading and information service for people with vision loss. Saturday’s celebrity readers include Daphne Maxwell Reid.
Morgan: Actor, producer, artist, philanthropist.
ESPN Sportsradio’s Big Al Coleman, Times Dispatch columnists Barton Hinkle and Bill Lohmann, novelist David Robbins, former TV anchor Lisa Schaffner, and WCVE’s own Page Wilson.
Morgan: Who, of course, is well-known as a singer and songwriter/recording artist.
The Read-a-Thon is from 10:30 to 4:30 at the Virginia Department of the Blind and Vision Impaired on Azalea Avenue. Learn more online at virginiavoice.org.
