Science Matters: VCU Students Have 24 Hours to Produce Exhibit for the Science Museum
What happens when 10 college students are locked in together for 24 hours at the Science Museum of Virginia with a challenge, their wits and $500? Charles Fishburne reports.
The da Vinci Center students will arrive at the Science Museum this afternoon at four, without a clue what their challenge will be.
Kahn: Exactly. We, actually, I don't even know what the topic's going to be.
Dr. Kenneth Kahn is Director of the da Vinci Center and his students will be getting real world experience in opportunity and pressure.
Tait: They're going to have 24 hours to create a Science Museum experience.
Nancy Tait at the Science Museum says the joint project with VCU is part of the museum’s outreach.
Tait: How do we stay fresh? How do we keep our experiences current with the rapid changes that happen in our world?
The students will have a $500 budget and no limit to their imagination.
Kahn: Exactly. Really creating innovation and making it real.
The students will unveil their exhibit tomorrow afternoon at three and it will be on display, in the real world, at the Science Museum of Virginia.
