Chesterfield Under Mandatory Water Restrictions
Four area localities have voluntary water restrictions today and one mandatory, and as Charles Fishburne reports, there is no relief in sight.
Chesterfield’s 100 thousand water customers are under mandatory restrictions beginning today.
Daniels: Unfortunately, we haven't gotten much rain in the area or any rain in the area.
Jeff Daniels at Chesterfield Utilities says the county gets 50% of its water from Lake Chesdin, which has passed the mandatory trigger point; meanwhile Richmond, Henrico, Hanover and Goochland go on voluntary restrictions today as the James River flow level was expected to pass its trigger point overnight.
Fountain: The biggest impact to residents is watering of their lawns.
Angela Fountain, Richmond utilities, says that means no watering Monday, odd number addresses can water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and even addresses on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Other restrictions apply. And the latest from the National Weather Service?
Daniels: It looks very dry.
