New I-295 Interchange in Chesterfield Will Boost Technology Park
Economic development in Chesterfield County may have turned around in the last two months, and as Charles Fishburne reports, a new contract for a 295 interchange into Meadowville Technology Park could open the doors for new business.
The Park is 1300 acres of prime real estate where Northrop-Grumman located their IT facility, but county officials say that is just the beginning.
Davis: At projected build-out, companies and medical technology park are expected to employ more than 7000 workers.
Will Davis is county Economic Development Director.
Davis: And this interchange is going to open the park up, if you will.
The 11.7 million is federal, state and local money, and Davis is confident they can now offer that park to new businesses and new capital that seem to be flowing again into the county.
Davis: The first two months of this year, which is July and August, we have done 66% more than all of last year.
With 150 active projects involving prospective businesses, Davis says the interchange will help to attract major players.
