Marshals Capture Murder Suspect in Petersburg
A man wanted in connection with a homicide has been arrested in Petersburg, thanks to tips from the public.
City Police have been looking for Alpheious Jones in connection with a murder at the end of June.
Hyatt: He's being held without bond in Petersburg jail for his involvement in the shooting death of Brandon Mason on June 23rd in the 900 block of Rome Street.

Hyatt: He's being charged with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
The arrest was made by an area-wide task force.
Hyatt: U.S. Marshal's task force has members from several police jurisdictions who are also deputized to work with them.
Hyatt said calls to the Crime Solvers line have been on the increase, and so have the rewards given for information that led to an arrest.
Hyatt: That's a very important aspect of community policing; we definitely need the public to call in.
