Oldest Carson High School Graduate Honored

Pr. George County Supervisors have recognized the last living graduate of Carson High School.

Elsie Beck is 102 years old.  She was one nine students who graduated from Carson in 1927.  The Supervisors presented her with a plaque sincerely thanking her for “her long, productive life of service and commitment to the Prince George County Community.”  Born in 1908 she lived and worked on the family farm until she graduated.  She attended Massey Business School in Richmond and after that married Stanley Beck in 1930.  The couple had two sons.  She now lives in New Kent County with one of her sons.

Elsie Beck worked as a volunteer at Southside Regional Medical Center for many years.  She told the Progress Index the secret to her longevity was 'living good and loving the Lord.'
