Las Vegas Man Fighting Extradition to Virginia
His lawyer says a Las Vegas man will fight extradition to Virginia to face a murder charge.
Donald Long, a retired postal worker, is accused of murdering his wife in Hopewell 45 years ago.
His efforts will delay his return to the state for at least a month. Long’s attorney claims he is totally innocent of the December 1964 strangulation of 39-year-old Naomi Long and blames his client’s recent indictment in Virginia on testimony from a woman he described as a bitter ex-wife.
Long was arrested by U.S. Marshalls last week in Las Vegas where he’s lived for 25 years. He is being held in the Clark County jail.
