Richmond Taking Applications from Minority Businesses

Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development and Economic and Community Development Department are accepting Contractor Assistance Loan Applications.
The new loan program is one of the steps being taken by the Jones administration to help small businesses and entrepreneurs get access to financing. The idea is to help them go after contract opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
The Mayor said it’s important to strengthen the city’s infrastructure of smaller employers, improve the business environment in the city overall, and be sure that no one is excluded.
Applications are being accepted now for up to a million dollars in loans. Most are expected to be in the $25 to $100 thousand-dollar range.
