No Fluvanna Water Deal for Louisa

Louisa County Supervisors say they’re not going to count on a deal with Fluvanna County to bring water to the Zion Crossroads area and will explore other options.

Louisa had requested a decision by the end of last month for a plan to develop and operate a water line to bring water from the James River through Fluvanna to Zion Crossroads.

Louisa Administrator Dale Mullen told the Central Virginian the County would have been a great partner.  All they want is a faucet at the county line. There is, he said, no desire to control anything.

In a meeting last week, Fluvanna Supervisors decided to ask the James River Water Authority, set up in spring last year, for a referendum on the plan.  At the same meeting, they approved moving forward with a Louisa service agreement.
