Louisa Woman Charged With Murder

A 61 year old Louisa County woman has been charged with murder.

When an Amelia County Grand Jury returned 11 charges against Ulisa Chavers, including first degree murder in the death of her husband Clint Chavers, sealed Louisa County indictments were unsealed in the death of her boyfriend Reginald Bowles.

Garrett:  At no point did the investigation into the deaths of Cody Bowles or Clint Chavers stop, even after the initial conviction.

Louisa Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Garrett.

Garrett:  The investigation continued; the diligence of probably 6 or 7 different law enforcement entities from the Social Security Administration to the Virginia State Police to the Louisa and Amelia Sheriff's Office, two different Commonwealth Attorneys' office and the forensic anthropologist from the Smithsonian Institute continued; what we have here is one step toward the completion in the pursuit of justice.

Bowles was found in a well on his property in Louisa in March of last year, two years after he disappeared.  In October, Chavers entered a guilty plea to charges of illegally disposing of a body, credit card fraud, identity theft and possession of a sawed-off rifle.
