Two Deaths in Hanover Crash

Tragedy struck a Durham, North Carolina family early yesterday in Hanover County. They were on the way to a graduation ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Their car crashed just before seven on Interstate 95 just south of Route 30 near the Doswell exit.

Molnar:  A 2004 Oldsmobile Alero was traveling northbound when the fatigued driver ran off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected and struck a tree.

Molnar:  The driver and the front-seat passenger were transported by ambualnce to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries.  The two back-seat passengers were flown by Medflight to VCU Medical Center where both of them later died.

The two were identified as 75-year-old Joe Thomas, who had been seated behind the driver, and 45-year-old Garry Estes.  A front seat passenger, 52-year-old Spencer Bridges, suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver, 51-year-old Teresa Bridges, was also hurt but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Molnar:  Charges are pending against her at this time.
