Arrest made in stray-bullet homicide
Richmond police have made an arrest in the murder of a man who was at the wrong place at the wrong time, and as Charles Fishburne reports, they may be looking for other suspects.
Acting on tips, police arrested 18-year old James R. Taylor, Jr., of the 1300 block of St. John Street, in the murder of William O. Ennis III, who was struck and killed by a stray bullet.
Peters: Taylor is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Karla Peters, Richmond Police.
Peters: Numerous tips from citizens led investigators to identify Taylor in this shooting. Richmond police further determined the shooting was not random and that Ennis apparently was not the intended target of Taylor.
Taylor is being questioned. Originally, police were looking for three people in connection with the shooting, but they won’t say what Taylor may or may not be telling them, nor whether others may be implicated, only that it is an active investigation.
