Petersburg Man Facing Felony Charges in Homicide
A Petersburg man is facing charges in connection with the murder of 27 year old Tameka Claiborne.
32-year-old Alphonzo Richardson was arrested Sunday and is being held in the Richmond City Jail.
Herring: We've recently charged Mr. Richardson with a rarely-used code section; it's a class 6 felony to transport or in any way aid in the concealment of a dead body with purposes of hiding it from detection.
Richmond Commonwealth’s Attorney Michael Herring said Richardson and 28-year-old Michael Solomon, who lived with the victim, are both being held without bond.
Herring: We've brought charges against Mr. Solomon for abduction; we're continuing to investigate him with the probability of adding additional charges.
A week ago, Claiborne’s two-year-old son, Malik, was found wandering at 11:30 at night on Valley Crest Drive in the Addison Swift Creek apartments. Claiborne’s body was found Friday morning in the James River near the Westover Plantation in Charles City County.
