Killer Leads Police to Remains
Virginia State Police say a man who entered a guilty plea last year to charges that he killed his wife now has led persistent investigators to the place where the body was left.
Lawrence Gaudenzi admitted last May that he murdered his wife and was sent to prison for 25 years.
Molnar: Lisa Gaudenzi was a 31-year-old mother of two who disappeared in 1995.
State Police Sgt. Tom Molnar:
Molnar: Last week special agents with the Virginia State Police talked to Gaudenzi and led our investigators to her body in Spotsylvania County..
Gaudenzi had filed a missing persons report in Caroline County, claiming that he dropped his wife, who was on active duty with the Army, at the bus station in Richmond for a trip to Ft. Lee. Gaudenzi suddenly disappeared after state police became involved. The case was featured on a TV show in 2002 and he was recognized as the man calling himself Randy Evans in Harrisonburg. He had also changed his children’s names. Randy Evans was a homeless man in Richmond who disappeared in 1998. Now that disappearance is being investigated.
