Prince George Police HQ Gets a Makeover

Pr. George County Supervisors have chosen a Midlothian Company to renovate the County Police Department Headquarters.

At $1.32 million, North South Construction, Inc. was the lowest bidder for the work at the Samuel L. Bland Building.  The County is so anxious to get the project going, Supervisors moved ahead without finishing a check of the company’s references.  The Police Chief said only one reference remains unchecked and all the others spoke highly of company’s work.

The Bland building was built to be a courthouse and has been repaired more than once over the years.  The renovation will include new HVAC systems and upgrade insulation and windows, among other things.  The renovation is expected to start immediately.  It’ll be finished some time year.
