Neptune Sculpture to be Displayed at Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center
Virginia Beach has lost its bragging rights to having the only spectacular Paul DiPasquale Sculpture of Neptune – as the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen installed one of its own yesterday.
With a forklift and fingers crossed, workers finessed the 1200-pound sculpture from a flatbed trailer to a stone pedestal in front of the Cultural Arts Center, as the artist watched.
Paul DiPasquale: That’s it…good job!
Paul DiPasquale chose art as a way of life, and Richmond as a place to live, though his works are now known all over the world.
K Alferio : Well, when you’re striving to be one of the premier art organizations in the region and Paul DiPasquale offers to put up a statue on permanent loan,it doesn’t get any better than that.
K Alferio is President of the Cultural Arts Center, where the Neptune Sculpture is now on permanent loan. It is smaller than the Virginia Beach version, but better in two important way: it was the model for Virginia Beach and it’s here.
