Ok, Ok--we can't escape it. We're too far in, so we might as well accept it. However, this isn't the annual World Music Holiday Show--that'll come next week.
Sometimes you can't deny it. Sometimes, things align themselves up so well that they become a force all their own. Well, on this week's World Music Show (12/6), the forces of World Music beats line up in this way. The'll be quite a bit to digest and deal with, so it's a good thing that all these beats are done in the name of all that is good.

And, throughout this season, they'll be nuggets of World Music type of celebration tunes to bring the globe closer to us here in RVA. If I were one to use all caps, in order to prove a point--as in trying to shout about this week's World Music Show (11/8), then the entire text would in essence be all caps and look like I was yelling. But, luckily for you, I don't need to scream or get in your face about this week's show. I don't even need to use exclamtion points. Because the music selected for the two hours, will simultaneously be in your face, while at the same time, not over power you to turn the chanel.
Alright, here's the low-down for this week's World Music Show (11/1). By now, if you're a frequent listener to this venue of world tunes, then you know that we regularly criss-cross the globe in the formats of both time and space. And if you don't know this, well then, this may be the perfect show for you to dip your musical toes into. Wait, that metaphor really clashes with all normal standards, which actually fits right in with this week's show.
Sure, that title is a mixed up metaphor. But I could think of no better nod to the great chunk of tunes we'll hear on this week's World Music Show (10/25). And, as the headline suggests, a good portion of the show will be dedicated to music from different parts of Africa.
If you could only look at these pictures and trust that what's lined up on the virtual turntable for this week's World Music Show (10/18), will be songs by some of greatest World Music musicians, as well as upcoming artists, ever assembled in a two-hour chunk. But alas, you'll have to trust my song selecting abilities (and not the fact that I just used the word "alas" in a sentence). And within this week's blog, I'll try my best to convey why you should join me for this week's show.
