“WCVE Danny Boy Project” Artist: John Turner
John Turner is one of the world’s leading exponents of the traditional Scottish fiddle music of the 18th and 19th centuries. Millions of people worldwide have enjoyed his performances on stage, television and radio for more than thirty years. For the same time period he has inspired, tutored, coached, and advised thousands of students of all ages who have come to love this tradition as does he. He has performed for six U.S. presidents, Queen Elizabeth II, the Prince of Wales, other members of Britain’s royal family, and many other heads of state from around the world. He has been featured on the popular radio program “Thistle and Shamrock”, “BBC Highland,” the television program “Pebble Mill at One,” Birmingham, England, “TV Tokyo,” with an estimated viewing audience of sixty million people and a host of other programs.
In this recording John teams up with guitarist Cliff Williams, cellist Sarah Glosson and recording engineer Lee Welch.
