The Scoop...
In the fall of 2000, the Community Idea Stations launched The Music Seen, featuring performances by Virginia musicians taped before club audiences in Richmond and Charlottesville. The occasional series showcases the talents of an eclectic group of musicians, and introduces viewers not only to their music, but also to the bands themselves, through documentary segments. Mason Mills, a producer for the Community Idea Stations and a musician, created this breakthrough series. It’s received a Communicator Award, a Bronze Telly and an Emmy nomination. Currently, the first three seasons of The Music Seen are airing nationally in select cities.
