The 2015 Alexander Paley Music Festival takes place this weekend at St. Luke Evangelical Church. Mr. Paley is world-renowned for his extensive repertoire, his technical prowess, and his passionate, convincing interpretations.
It's time to take a trip--a mini trip, at least in hour one of this week's World Music Show (9/26). And if you can't guess by the large picture of Latin American flags, we'll be heading to South America (with one minor detour first).
Yes, the future is now. And that future involves you becoming a member of WCVE during our Fall Membership Campaign. Usually for the weekly blog of The World Music Show (this week, 9/19), I create a well-crafted, supurbly written electronic tome about what's coming up on the show. However, for this week's blog, I'll just stick to the basics--but, for your enjoyment, I will include some pictures and along with some hearty pleas for you to become a member.
Ok, before you dig deep into your memory bank to finish the quote to the headline (which is a song reference, by the way) for this week's World Music Show (9/12), I want you to know that in no way will that song show up on this week's show (not that it's a bad song, it's just not appropriate). Instead, this week's show will be a bit of everything. It could be desert blues mixed with Brazilian Timbalada. Or it could be Asian Beat mixed with Ska.
