Escape the holidays with the too-much-fantastic-food coma, the stare-blankly-at-the-television-sports coma, and the mindless-shopping-for-whatever-this-store-has-on-sale blues, and enjoy some real blues with Time For the Blues this Saurday (11/30/13) starting at 11 p.m. on 88.9 WCVE. Henry Cook and I are serving up a heaping helping of great tunes, bad jokes, and more than one surprise. Goes great with the leftover turkey sandwich!
Time for the Blues
This week on Time For The Blues (11/23/13), Henry and I are cooking up a tasty little late-night dessert and serving up some hot tunes just for you. So kick back in your favorite chair and turn up the headphones and listen to the music–you just might want to ignore the silly jokes.
John and I invite you to join us this week (11/9/13) as Time for the Blues returns to “Chicago Blues: A Living History,” incredible remakes of classic blues from all the greats! Unlike the old “sold-on-TV-fake-rock-hits-LPs” from the ‘70s, these remakes are the real deal! We’ll also find out what Steve Miller was up to when he returned to his blues roots in 2010!
We're going back to our Wish List on Time for the Blues this week (11/2/13) and share more incredible blues with you that we just couldn't play from the first Wish List show! For example, we'll feature Johnny Winter classics from a remastered set of 2 albums he did in the late 70's that we just had to have! Come along and hear if our blues wish list is anything like yours!
Join us this week (9/21/13) as John and I share our blues wish list with you on Time for the Blues! Not only will you hear tracks from one of Buddy Guy's best,"Living Proof" but also some amazing performances that we're sure you'll want on YOUR wish list! Here's hoping that all your wishes come true...
