To some, different music, World Music in fact, can be an almost scary thing. Well, on this week's World Music Show (5/30), I'll set to ease your fears, if any. And, if you're not fearful of different beats, then this week's show will just be a good kick in the pants--you know, a show filled with a mixture of interesting beats culled from all over the globe.
So, once in awhile I like to do theme shows. Thus is the case for this weeks World Music Show (5/23). And, as eluded to in the head line for this week, it's all about the doubles...well, for the most part. We'll see how this adventure ends up because in this weeks particular theme, we'll run the gamut of frivolity. However, there may be a bump in the road of this challenge along the way.
There are a lot of great musicians in Richmond, VA. Of late the most interesting combination for me is the Tin Can Fish Band. As a part of the new mini-series within The Electric Croude, Notes from America, I was more than happy to have in the studios Steve Fisher and Doug Austin (mandolin/fiddle). Both are alumni of the Croude Bande and great guys.
