Once in awhile I need to hear some sweeping, beautiful, “wall of sound” type of music—the kind that just pulls you in and surrounds you. You know, the kind of songs that, if you close your eyes, you can imagine being where the music was created.
The Richmond Symphony will open their 60th anniversary season this Thursday evening, September 14th at 8 p.m. in the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Arts Center. Acclaimed violinist Joshua Bell will join the orchestra, along with 13-year old violin prodigy Yesong Sophie Lee.
