An Homage to Electric Issa

We’ll start this week’s World Music Show (10/29) with a tribute to a musician who plugged in the kamele N’goni and became known as ‘Electric Issa.” And we’ll explore other sounds from the African Continent, including Brazilian/Afro-folk songs. Plus, in hour two, it’ll Red Hot in the land of Rio. With all that, it’ll be a show worth the price of admission—but more on that in a moment.

A Bevy of Sound

Welcome one and all to the fabulous spectacle that is this week’s World Music Show (10/22). Ok, perhaps that’s over selling it a bit, but that could be because I’ve seen the playlist and I know that this week’s show will do its best to thrill and entertain you—or at least it’ll help you pass the time for a few hours on a Saturday night.

Accordion Crimes & Other Misdemeanors

So what does the Accordion, Keith Richards and Led Zeppelin have to do with World Music? Well, they’re all part of this week’s World Music Show (10/15/16), in which we’ll investigate crimes against the accordion, or rather we’ll explore this magical instrument as it travels through some of the crevasses of World Music. As for the Richards and Zeppelin reference? You’ll have to read through this week’s Top Ten List to find out.
