There’s something communal and even uplifting about attending a concert—whether it’s an indoor or outdoor one. So, on this week’s World Music Show (7/8), I’ll attempt to do just that—recreate that vibe you get when you share an event like a show.
Sure, we’ll have to use our imaginations to get that feeling together, but I think we can manage that.
American composer Jack Gallagher’s music has been performed and recorded by major symphony orchestras and many leading solo and chamber musicians. The Cleveland Plain Dealer said his music “evokes glowing images” and exhibits “glistening personality.” He’s been the recipient of many awards, grants and fellowships. Jack is currently a Professor of Music at The College of Wooster, Ohio.
It’s time once again for the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival and Academy! The festival features symphonic and chamber concerts over a four-week period from July 8th to August 6th. It also attracts first-rate musicians to participate as performers and educators, as part of the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy.
On this week’s World Music Show (7-1) we’re going to revisit my on-again/off-again segment known as A Different Spin, in which I get the chance to speak to musicians and people in the music industry who are doing amazing things.
