88.9 WCVE will be at the main stage of the Richmond Folk Festival with exclusive uninterrupted coverage starting Friday (10/7) at 6:30 p.m. and airing all day Saturday and Sunday. Check out the schedule below. Additionally, Gary U.S. Bonds with Gene “Daddy G” Barge (The Norfolk Sound), who will be performing at 9:00 p.m. Saturday night, will be heard on a delayed basis on Sunday afternoon. Also - stop by both of our booths for fun giveaways, activities, and meet and greet opportunities (details below).

A Musical Travelogue

On this week’s World Music Show (10/1), we’ll create a travelogue of musical souvenirs, with highlights in alternative Portuguese tunes, as well as some Rock-n-Roll tracks out of Russia. Plus, we’ll hear a melding of African & Brazilian music, as well as some groovy Gypsy songs.

Time To Spread Your Wings

Get ready to spread your wings and some Big Noise on this week’s World Music Show (9/24). That’s right, we’ll check out some Funky Tropicalismo music which has a big band sound to it, plus we’ll get a Brazilian groove going with Bebel Gilberto and a few others.
