I know. It's just around the corner. That "holiday" known as St. Patrick's Day. And that's right, I gave the holiday some quote marks. I'll get to that in bit. But there's something else on the horizon for this week's World Music Show (3/12). And I'll get to that too in greater detail down below. But for those who require a quickie, or who want a just the facts, well then, here you go.
On this week's World Music Show (3/25), we're going to take a walk into the land of cool by looking at the alternative side of Latin music, as well as hear new releases from the über cool Karsh Kale and we'll pull down some covers on some great rock songs as well as head to Cyprus to check out those cool looking fellows pictured above, who are Monsieur Doumani.
The talented pianist Orli Shaham will be in Richmond performing Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto with the Richmond Symphony this weekend at the Carpenter Theatre. Music Director Steven Smith will conduct the program which includes Modest Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 6.

The Music from Grace concert series at Grace Baptist Church features soprano Jennifer Piazza-Pick and pianist Cheryl Cellon Lindquist this Sunday (2/21) at 3:00 p.m. The mission of the series is to bring world-class performers directly to the Richmond community to provide easy access to extraordinary music making.
