The St. Olaf Choir is the premier a cappella choir in the United States and they're here in Richmond! They will be performing tonight (Friday, 2/3) at River Road Church, Baptist, before moving on to Washington, DC this weekend.
Breakfast Classics with Mike Goldberg is expanding to two hours this weekend (2/4), running from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Mike will play another hour of your favorite classics and share interviews with local and international artists. Also featured on the show will be new classical releases.
So enjoy some great music to wake up to only on 88.9, WCVE, Richmond’s Public Radio station.
Feelings—no, not that schmaltzy 70s ballad of blandness (ok, I’m sure “it” had its place in the musical lexicon, and if I were to go into my personal history of this song, then you may understand my dig at it), but I’m talking about all those things bubbling and gurgling up inside of all of us. We’ve all got them. And what I want to do for this week’s World Music Show (2/4) is to get rid of them. That’s right, stuff them on down to their deepest depths. Why? Well, with them out of the way, you’ll be able to enjoy this week’s show.
The Alexander Paley Music Festival presents “A Winter Weekend” at the St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, with performances Saturday evening (January 28th) at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon (January 29th) at 3:00 p.m.
Like a possessed pachinko machine, this week’s World Music Show (1/28) will take that musical pinball, throw it down and then hope it lands on something fantastic. In other words, it’s going to be a mixed up sort of show—which is just how we like it.
It’s all about the future on this weekend’s World Music Show (1/21)…well, ok, it’ll also be about the past, too. And, perhaps they’ll be some middle ground thrown in there too. Either way, it’s going to be a great show, or so my psychic dog Gromit says.
