The Richmond Trio Piano is comprised of Richmond Symphony concertmaster Daisuke Yamamoto, principal cellist Neal Cary and pianist Joanne Kong. They will be performing a program of chamber music next week, featuring music of Beethoven, Boccherini and Ravel.
A few weeks ago, well, actually about a month ago, there was a bash, a BirthdayBash to be exact. Dubbed “The World Music BirthdayBash,” it was a celebration of World Music, The World Music Show and um, my birthday. In case you missed it (and the live Facebook feed), on this week's World Music Show (9/3), I’m broadcasting highlights from that event.
We hope you will join us this Saturday night (9/3/16) at 11:00 on Time for the Blues, as Henry and I are planning to have some fun with some great music and it will be even more fun if you come along!
From East to West and North to South, it’s time to get your compass out of that drawer for this week’s World Music Show (8/27), because in the next two hours, we're going to try cover all the points of musical interest on the continent of Africa. So grab a map and get that sextant ready because the trip is about to begin, right after these musical beats.
Ok, the title for this week's World Music Show (8/20), is really a play on words. It's in no way a sly reference to an African American heavy metal band known as Living Colour. The title is merely a reference to an icon in Bolero music that is the crux of existence for a group featured on this week's show.
