For the new year I thought I’d start this week’s World Music Show (1/7) off right by playing a bunch of new music. But then I remembered that it’s only been a week into the new year, so there’s nothing new to choose from. However, due to the enormous bounty that was in last year’s crop of new music, I will have some leftover goodness that will seep into this week’s show.
All that, however, will be saved for hour two of the show. Because in hour one, I was able to get a special guest into the studio to talk about a very interesting and rewarding project.
You may know him from his band Eddie From Ohio or through his moving work in SPARC’s Live Art productions over the last few years. Robbie Schaefer is not just another singer/songwriter…trying to capture his essence as a musician and a human being is next to impossible in a few short words. Suffice to say, Robbie Schaefer is a calming, hopeful oasis in today’s challenging times.
Two sets of siblings, gifted with significant musical talent, are already getting a big head start. Coming up, two youthful Carolina bands share this hour of live performance radio…Asheville’s Moore Brothers…and Lexington’s Snyder Family. It’s our second radio show to feature Zeb and Samantha Snyder, this time with great previously-unaired tracks.
Our JAMinc/In Your Ear concerts are generally comprised of two sets lasting 45 minutes to an hour, meaning we just don’t have time to share everything with you during these 53-minute-long radio shows.
