WINGS is a musical adaptation of the 1978 play by American playwright Arthur Kopit. It originated as a radio play, part of an NPR drama project titled “Earplay.” The work follows the central character Emily Stilson and her recovery from a debilitating stroke.

Composer Ola Gjeilo was born in Norway in 1978 and moved to the United States in 2001 to begin composition studies at the Juilliard School. He’s a talented composer and pianist, who is now the composer-in-residence with the British vocal ensemble Voces8. Ola is very interested in film, and his music often draws inspiration from movies.
