The Richmond Ballet will present its “Studio Three” performances Tuesday, April 4th through Sunday, April 9th at the Richmond Ballet Studio Theatre. This show will feature a broad range of dance styles from classical to contemporary, beginning with “Notturno” choreographed by Salvatore Aiello, staged by Jerri Kumery and set to the music of Franz Schubert. “Pas Glazunov” is choreographed by Malcolm Burn, who is celebrating his 30th season with the Richmond Ballet. The performance concludes with “An Open Letter,” a world premiere by company dancer Matthew Frain. I recently spoke with Matthew about the work, and he shared his thoughts about “Studio Three” as well as his career path that brought him to Richmond.
Yours in good music,
