Symphony Spotlight highlights the careers of orchestral musicians across the country. My guest for our October segment is Ralph Skiano, Principal Clarinetist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Ralph spent quite a bit of time here in Richmond, as Principal Clarinetist of the Richmond Symphony from 2002-2014. He has also served in the same position with the Detroit Symphony and the Des Moines Opera.
As a soloist, Ralph has been featured with ensembles in the United States, France, Germany and Switzerland. A fan of chamber music, he was a founding member of the Atlantic Chamber Ensemble based in Richmond. He is also an active educator, now teaching at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music and previously serving on the faculty at James Madison University and the College of William and Mary.
