New Release: Requiem For My Mother by Stephen Edwards

“Requiem For My Mother” is an 11-movement major choral work written by composer Stephen Edwards to commemorate his mother’s influence on him, both personally and professionally.  He explains, “I began the Requiem as a way of dealing with my deep sense of loss at my mother's death in 2006.”

The work earned high praise from acclaimed composer John Williams, who says it’s “heart-felt and honest,” and “a touching tribute to a Mother from a loving son.” The award-winning PBS documentary of the same name aired on WCVE PBS in celebration of Mother’s Day.

The project features the 160-voice Continuo Arts Symphonic Chorus, including their 60-member children’s choir, and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Candace Wicke.
