Pianist Shai Wosner has attracted international recognition for his insightful performances and recordings of a broad repertoire -- from Beethoven and Schubert to the music of today. In his latest release “Impromptu,” Shai pairs works by seven different composers focusing on the theme of improvisation.
American composer Jack Gallagher’s music has been performed and recorded by major symphony orchestras and many leading solo and chamber musicians. The Cleveland Plain Dealer said his music “evokes glowing images” and exhibits “glistening personality.” He’s been the recipient of many awards, grants and fellowships. Jack is currently a Professor of Music at The College of Wooster, Ohio.
It’s time once again for the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival and Academy! The festival features symphonic and chamber concerts over a four-week period from July 8th to August 6th. It also attracts first-rate musicians to participate as performers and educators, as part of the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy.
Acclaimed violinist Rachel Barton Pine has released a new album celebrating the solo violin works of Nicolo Paganini. “Bel Canto Paganini” features the 24 Caprices, as well as the Introduction and Variations on ‘Nel cor più non mi sento’ from Paisiello’s “La molinara,” the Duet for One, and Caprice d’adieu.
