The Ariel Quartet was formed in Israel nearly twenty years ago when its members were middle-school students. They were recently awarded the prestigious Cleveland Quartet Award and serve as the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music.
The ensemble maintains a busy touring schedule and have just released their first album. I recently talked with them about this recording, which pairs the music of Brahms with Bartok.
