The Community Idea Stations will be partnering with the Children’s Museum of Richmond on a PBS Kids Nature Cat Event on Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Join us at CMoR - Central 2626 W. Broad St. Richmond, VA 23220 - to bring nature and STEM-focused, curriculum-based media to the public through the Nature Cat Event.
The event will highlight Nature Cat, an animated PBS KIDS series designed to encourage children ages 3-8 to explore and develop connections with the natural world. The event will include a costumed character appearance, episode screening, storytime, Nature Cat Event activity stations co-produced by Kohl Children’s Museum of Glenview, and a take-home item.
For more information on the event, visit the Children’s Museum of Richmond.
More About Nature Cat:
The PBS KIDS series Nature Cat follows Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. In each episode, once his family leaves for the day, Fred transforms into Nature Cat, “backyard explorer extraordinaire.” Nature Cat can’t wait to get outside for a day of backyard nature excursions and bravery, but there’s one problem: He’s still a house cat with no instincts for nature. Like many of today’s kids, Nature Cat is eager and enthusiastic about outside activities, but is at times intimidated by them. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and “play the show.”
