Telling Stories with StoryCorps at Lewis Ginter

Behind the Scenes was able to speak to Beth Monroe, Director, Public Relations & Marketing at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Yazmín Peña, a facilitator for StoryCorps about the importance of preserving oral histories and how every story matters.
As part of an award given to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, StoryCorps setup their mobile recording studio at the Garden, collecting stories on how the Garden has impacted lives and the community. The national oral history project, one of the largest of its kind, records and preserves community stories throughout the country. StoryCorps features can be heard on WCVE Public Radio’s Morning Edition and on its website.
