“More Than Just Point A to Point B: Transportation Plan 2035“ is the topic of November’s Start the Conversation. Gene Lepley is the host and moderator.

Transportation is not just being able to get from point A to Point B. It involves a comprehensive planning process that considers important components such as air quality, alternative modes of transportation, improvements to current roadways, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.  Most importantly, the planning process involves people like you.

Panelists include:
Larry Hagin, Director Government Affairs & Planning, GRTC Transit System
Barbara Nelson, Principal Transportation Planner, Richmond MPO
Tom Hawthorne, Richmond District Administrator, VDOT
Deb Angstadt, LMR '11, Transportation Team Member and Director, Warren Whitney

The Community Idea Stations, in partnership with Leadership Metro Richmond, produces the series.

AIRS Sunday, November 27 at noon on WCVE PBS/WHTJ PBS

A recent Style magazine article stated that residents in Richmond dorve more than anyone else in the state..an average of 25 million miles every day.
Why is that. My hunch is that the surrounding suburban counties do not allow grtc in. What is the politics behind that? I am a resident in Henrico county; who do i contact (the country manager`s office or the local county supervisor?).

Also, we have an adult autistic son. He works fri nites at the positive vibe cafe. He works the rest of the wk at my office and one day at another office. He is very active. He relies on the Care Van alot. The problems with Care Van are very frustrating. They very often come to early, or much more problematic, they come too late....and I am speaking of 2 hrs late on a friday nite scheduled for 9:30 pm and arriving at 11:45 pm. Incidence like this occur amazingly often.
Why? And how do we remedy it?

thanks.
