The Muppets Get Their Own Star in Hollywood

The Muppets – the fuzzy, wonderful monsters generations of children have grown up with as part of Sesame Street – have received their own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. It is the 2,466th star awarded and is on the sidewalk in front of the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles.

Several Muppets were on hand for the ceremony including Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal, Pepe, Sweetums and the newest Muppet, Walter.

Kermit told the crowd, ''We are just really happy to be on Hollywood Boulevard today, joining some of the greatest names in showbiz.''

The Muppets’ are not the first of the Sesame Street characters to receive the honor of a Hollywood star – Big Bird already has been awarded the accolade.
