Your public broadcasting station recently left its mark - in China.

VP and General Manager for television, John Felton, was recently invited on an all-expenses paid trip to Beijing, China by Chinese Central Television (CCTV). John presented the keynote speech for a global distribution forum presented by CCTV to media representatives from around the world, talking about the public television system in the United States.

While he was there, John executed an agreement with CCTV to continue airing local broadcasts of Chinese cultural programs on WCVE PBS Richmond. ('Rediscovering the Yangtze,' currently airing on WCVE PBS Monday nights at 11 p.m.). He also initiated discussions with CCTV regarding a future national public television distribution agreement, where WCVE PBS would represent CCTV programming for the entire public television system in the United States.

The agreement and discussions present exciting opportunities for the Community Idea Stations to extend their outreach to new audiences and to engage with CCTV in the distribution of international content. John Felton is pleased that WCVE PBS will continue broadcasting CCTV's programming on Monday evenings, saying,  "Chinese Central Television's documentary production division produces quality films commensurate with the quality our audiences expect from public television. We look forward to developing a national public distribution deal in the near future to extend the reach of Chinese Central Television programming to all Americans."

This is quite informative! Glad to know that the Community Idea Stations to extend their outreach to new audiences and to engage with CCTV in the distribution of international content. I think such step reach our recreational life one ahead. Thanks!
