Come See Us at the Richmond Folk Festival!

The Richmond Folk Festival is Coming to Town October 12-14
Last year, more than 200,000 people visited downtown Richmond's riverfront to celebrate the roots, richness and variety of American culture through music, dance, traditional crafts, storytelling and food. The Richmond Folk Festival has become one of Virginia’s largest and most-loved events of the year and has been voted as the best musical festival in Richmond, 2 years running. The 2012 Festival will bring a new and similarly amazing list of performers, artists and exhibitors.
We'll Be At the Richmond Folk Festival - Come See Us!
WCVE Public Radio is proud to be a media sponsor for the Richmond Folk Festival. We will have a tent at the Altria Stage; stop by early to pick up some freebies, like NPR pins, slingbacks to carry your Folk Festival goodies, and program information. You'll also be able to enter your name in a drawing for a free HD radio and iPod docking station!
In addition to our tent at the Altria Stage, we will have a Ready to Learn table in the Genworth Financial Family Area, where your kids will be able to take part in some fun activities (based on the theme "Wild Animal Safari") and learn about our kids' programming. Get a temporary tattoo, pick up an activity booklet and crayons, as well as some stickers and book marks - all free while supplies last. Our Ready to Learn table will be open from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
If You Can't Visit the Festival in Person - You Can Still Listen
Nothing beats being in the middle of the Folk Festival, where you can see the costumes and instruments, dance with other Folk Festival partyers, and eat the food. But if you just can't make it to the party in person, you can still tune in. We'll broadcast 15 hours of music from the Altria Stage, including:
-
Friday 6:30 to 9:30
Saturday Noon to 6 - Sunday Noon to 6
