Camping Out with Sid the Science Kid
Sid the Science Kid fans and their families explored the great outdoors with a Backyard Campout Event on Friday, June 24th at the Community Idea Stations. The evening featured a screening of the newest episode of the EMMY®-nominated PBS preschool series that encourages early science exploration.
In the “Sid’s Backyard Campout!” episode, Sid spends a fun-filled day finding answers about the outdoors with his dad and good friend, Gerald. Our guests had fun right along with Sid as they listened to spooky camp stories and enjoyed a scavenger hunt that explored plants, animals, bugs and shadows. There was plenty of singing around the “campfire” and eating “pigs in a sleeping bag” and s’mores. Everyone had a fantastic time as they experienced how fun a simple backyard campout can be for the whole family.
Matthew got so excited about the whole event, we bought him a bug
hunting kit. He really can't leave it alone and we went hunting
fireflies for the first time ever on Saturday night."- Cindy and family
