Business Connections 2012 a Success
Recently, the Community Idea Stations hosted a unique opportunity for businesses to connect with other businesses. The well attended event–Business Connections 2012–allowed business professionals a chance to build new relationships across their industries.
This networking opportunity was presented by the Professionals Referral Organization (PRO), founded and owned by business relationship coach Mike Short. According to Short, “We were excited to give local professionals an opportunity to network with each other and help support WCVE-TV (WCVE PBS) Public Broadcasting.”
The event was held at the studios of WCVE PBS–a Community Idea Station–located on 23 Sesame Street in Richmond, Virginia. It was a new experience for some of the vendors and attendees. Walter Cornett, owner of Walter Cornett Landscaping was instrumental in coordinating the event’s vendors.
The Community Idea Stations would like to extend an appreciative “Thank You!” to all of the participating vendors. Feel free to download a contact information sheet (PDF) should you like to discuss a possible connection.
If you would like more information about the event or would like to participate in a future Business Connections please contact Gwynne Brown at (804) 560.8266 or gbrown@ideastations.org.
Also, feel free to ask how we could address any space needs you may have regarding:
- conducting a business reception
- training workshops
- studio rentals for commercial production
- shooting a video for your website
- or other production and creative services
We hope to see you next year!

Gwynne,
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and effort with this event. It was awesome! Unlike so many other networking events where you see the same faces just at different locations, your event brought a lot of new faces. Please keep me in mind for any other upcoming events you or your organization have planned.
Best wishes,
Aly and the crew at Heroes Academy
I wanted to thank you Gwynne and all the staff at the Community Idea Stations. We had a great time at the event and it was good to see the usual faces as well as meeting many new folks. Thanks again and please let us know when the next event comes around. We would gladly like to be part of it again.
I am very proud to have been a part of this event and it's future pedecessors. Gwynne and the crews of WCVE, PBS, Richmond Idea Stations and more were great. I hope we were able to help them out.
DeeDee and I very much enjoyed the PRO Business Connections Social. There was a lot of worthwhile networking going on and fabulous business contacts being made at this event.
We had a number of current and future clients come by our table. Everyone that stopped by was genuinely interested in finding out exactly what we do at TAC-Solutions. Once we explained that we are a professional firearms training business we received some awesome responses. We have already have booked some new business from this event!
This event was the best event we have attended in a long time, PRO rocks.
Gwynne,
We enjoyed being part of your "Business Connections 2012" and made a lot of friends while there.
Walt Roberts
